Track simplification

Fantastic ride. If you are fit and competent you MUST do it!

Recommend driving to Argens and starting there and retrieve the car with a shuttle later.

Begin with tough grind up towards Petit Cordeil on gravel track but that only takes and hour. Here you meet the VTT signs for "The Chemin de Soleil". Follow these.

You get a bit of relief on the open plateau but dont, relax too much because the climbing is not over. The signed route veers off the summit ridge down a forestry track on the west flank of the hill which give a good fast descent on double track to a small obelisk and gate at a track hairpin. From here climb hard again up the forestry track until you descend to a large hairpin bend.

(An alternative is to keep on the grassy ridge top all the way and follow this to the aerials on the summit. From near the aerials take the forestry track down the west flank until you pick up the "chemin de soleil signs at the large hairpin bend.)

At the large hairpin bend veer off left on a new bit of track. After about 400m it veers off to the right (its not obvious here). Theres a good bit of single track until you meet the main forest track again. Go down this about 600m until a sign posted left turn. Here is the main single track descent. Its superb - techincal to start, then flowy with lots of switchbacks. Enjoy it.

Eventually you drop down and straight across the main forestry track again on a broad wooded ridge. You can follow the signed way "Chemin du Soleil" right into the Issole valley but I would recommend taking the footpath path to the left down to La Mure for a better end.
