This ride combines part of the North Face trail, great climbs, some classic descents and greatLake Districtscenery. It follows Grizedale and Claife Heights 1 for the Grizedale part, but does the Hawkshead andClaifeHeightsloop clockwise, and passes through Hawkshead
The route stars at the Grizedale visitor centre and climbs to the top of Grizedale on the North Face trail. After a loop over Low Parkamoor with its stunning views over Coniston comes the fastLawsonParkdescent, followed by a road climb to High Cross.
Here it follows a short section of the N Face Trail and then descends to Hawkshead village on a fast bridleway. There is a sharp climb after this to the top ofClaifeHeights, but the descent to Near Sawry is good. After passing Esthwaite on the road the route climbs up to the Fox sculpture for a fast rocky descent to finish.
The route can be shortened by missing out the Parkamoor loop.
