Altitude Profile (7 ft to 272 ft)
The “hardest” part of the tour. Because most of you have never been riding in Flanders we want to show you some highlights of the Tour of Flanders.
On Saturday we will start in Kortrijk to have an easy start until we reach Melden (next to Oudenaarde). First obstacle on our tour is de Koppenberg. Although it is only 682m long, with its maximum gradient of 19% and average gradient of 9% it is one of the hardest climbs. Not many biker tourists can climb it all the way to the top. After this climb we can stop at the museum “Centrum Ronde Van Vlaanderen”. Maybe we can eat something here and for those who want to know more about the Tour of Flanders, they can visit the museum.
After the break we are going to climb the Volkegemberg followed by the cobblestones of Kerkgate. The last real climb of the day is the Molenberg. Then it goes downhill to the cobblestones of the Paddestraat. This is the last obstacle that is also done in the Tour of Flanders. Then it is off to Gent.
