Altitude Profile (269 ft to 392 ft)
Start near Oakleaf Leisure center adjacent to Horndale Ave, the path travels east along the Simpasture Railway line of the disused railway the route navigates north around St Oswald’s Park before heading west towards Woodham College and cobblers hall , Woodham Park, Agnew Plantation and Rope Moor Wood. The trail then takes you through woodland adjacent to the Middridge Road before veering through Byerley Park and down behind Greenfield School. From here the walk brings you past Burnhill Way and once again joins the Woodham Burn at the south then past the Netwon Aycliffe train station to the end point.
The shorter route takes you south at the Woodham College down the Woodhan butn to the Aycliffe Butterfly meadows mssing out Cobblers Hall and Byerley Park.
