Altitude Profile (589 ft to 969 ft)
A fantastic and scenic track, almost all made in unpaved roads. It starts on the old train track of Montemor o Novo, goes up to Torre da Gadanha and it follows up crossing a number of amazing Alentejo places, including farms, lost and abandoned villages, dams, old train stations and much more. It was made slowly in about 3h30m. Most of the roads are quite easy and do not require previous experience, in spite of a short section between Km 32 and 33.5 in an old abandoned trail which requires some attention. In winter, expect some mud (but easily passable) between Km 38 and Km 40, even in dry periods. While not flat, most of the track has smooth gradients which are not too demanding.
I made a slight routing error at Km 49.3, in the paved section near the end, wich leads to an abandoned farm and a closed gate. Avoid this detour and follow the old tared road. Or, in case of doubt, just return by the "ecovia" at Km 49.
