Altitude Profile (715 ft to 1,729 ft)
Although getting a bit ragged round the edges due to its popularity (we may have had something to do this), Cut Gate still remains an all-time classic ride, not only among its Peaks peers, but within UK as a whole. The only drawback to the ride is that there is only really one option to extend it into a loop (see Tour of Bleakwell for that ride) and that entails a mammoth 64km haul around the High Peak. Which leaves an out-and-back as the only other alternative. Happily that option’s not too much of a chore, as it means you get to do this awesome stretch of moorland singletrack twice in one day.
