GPSies respects your privacy and shares your concern about the security of information you may submit to GPSies's websites and the related mobile applications and services (collectively, the "Services"). Our privacy policy (the "Privacy Policy") explains the information we collect, how we use and share it, how to manage your privacy settings and your rights in connection with the Services. GPSies is headquartered in Berlin (Germany) and our Services are provided to you by GPSies. If you are a resident of the European Union ("EU"), GPSies is the controller of your personal data for the purposes of EU data protection law.

This policy was written in English. To the extent a translated version conflicts with the German version, the German version controls. Unless indicated otherwise, this Privacy Policy does not apply to third party products or services or the practices of companies that we do not own or control, including other companies you might interact with on or through the Services.

If you have given us consent, you may withdraw at any time with effect for the future.

You can contact at any time with an appeal to the supervisory authority. Their supervisory authority depends on the province of your residence, your work, or the alleged violation. Purposes of the data processing by the responsible entity and third parties

We process your personal data only for the purposes stated in this privacy policy. A transfer of your personal data to third parties other than these purposes does not take place. We disclose your personal data to third parties only, if:

  • You have given your express consent to do so.
  • The processing for the handling of a contract with you is required,
  • The processing for the fulfilment of a legal obligation is required,

is necessary to protect legitimate interests and is no reason to believe that you have an overriding legitimate interest of the non-proliferation regime of your data.

Deletion or locking of data

We adhere to the principles of data avoidance and data economy. We therefore only store your personal data for as long as is necessary to achieve the purposes stated here or as provided for in the various storage periods provided for by law. General information collected when you visit our website

PayPal as a payment processor

On this website, the controller has integrated components of PayPal. PayPal is an online payment service provider. Payments are processed via so-called PayPal accounts, which represent virtual private or business accounts. PayPal is also able to process virtual payments through credit cards when a user does not have a PayPal account. If the data subject chooses "PayPal" as the payment option in the online shop during the ordering process, we automatically transmit the data of the data subject to PayPal. By selecting this payment option, the data subject agrees to the transfer of personal data required for payment processing.

The personal data transmitted to PayPal is usually first name, last name, address, email address, IP address, telephone number, mobile phone number, or other data necessary for payment processing. The processing of the purchase contract also requires such personal data, which are in connection with the respective order.

The transmission of the data is aimed at payment processing and fraud prevention. The controller will transfer personal data to PayPal, in particular, if a legitimate interest in the transmission is given. Comment function

If users leave comments on our website, the time of their creation and the user name previously chosen by the website visitor are stored in addition to this information. This serves our security, since we can be prosecuted for illegal contents on our web page, even if these were provided by users.

Contact form

If you contact us by e-mail or contact form with questions of any kind, please give us your voluntary consent for the purpose of contacting us. A valid e-mail address is required for this purpose. This is used to assign the request and then reply to it. The specification of further data is optional. Integrated YouTube videos

We embed YouTube videos on some of our websites. YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA is the operator of the corresponding plug-ins. When you visit a page with the YouTube plugin, a connection to Youtube servers is established. Youtube will be informed which pages you visit. If you are logged into your Youtube account, Youtube can assign your surfing behavior to you personally. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account beforehand.

If a YouTube video is started, the provider uses cookies that collect information about user behavior.

Whoever has deactivated the storage of cookies for the Google Ad program will also not have to reckon with such cookies when viewing YouTube videos. Youtube also stores non-personal usage information in other cookies. If you want to prevent this, you must block the saving of cookies in your browser.

Google AdSense

On this website, the controller has integrated Google AdSense. Google AdSense is an online service which allows the placement of advertising on third-party sites. Google AdSense is based on an algorithm that selects advertisements displayed on third-party sites to match with the content of the respective third-party site. Google AdSense allows an interest-based targeting of the Internet user, which is implemented by means of generating individual user profiles.

The purpose of Google's AdSense component is the integration of advertisements on our website. Google AdSense places a cookie on the information technology system of the data subject. The definition of cookies is explained above. With the setting of the cookie, Alphabet Inc. is enabled to analyze the use of our website. Google AdWords

Our website uses Google Conversion Tracking. If you have reached our website via an ad placed by Google, Google Adwords sets a cookie on your computer. The conversion tracking cookie is set when a user clicks on an ad served by Google. These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages of our website and the cookie has not yet expired, we and Google can see that the user has clicked on the ad and has been redirected to this page. Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. Cookies cannot therefore be traced through the websites of AdWords customers. The information collected using the conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. The protection of personal information is of the utmost importance to running.COACH. running.COACH includes these data protection provisions to inform users and visitors of how the personal information is processed.

running.COACH only uses personal information to facilitate the performance of the services on the running.COACH platform which require registration.

Membership of running.COACH is only open to individuals of full age. Parents are responsible for the privacy protection of their children.

At running.COACH, the user himself is responsible for his privacy settings. In his profile, the user can set his own privacy level individually and decide how visible he should be on the running.COACH platform.

running.COACH reserves the right to alter these data protection provisions at any time if changes prove necessary based on provision loopholes identified at a later point in time or with respect to new running.COACH services. running.COACH will inform the user of any changes via e-mail.

Privacy policy for the usage of Twitter

GPSies uses certain services of Twitter, Inc. 1355 Market St, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA. (“Twitter”). By using Twitter and the function “Re-Tweet” the user’s visited websites are connected with the user’s Twitter account and are made public to other users. Through this process data is transferred to Twitter.

GPSies does not receive any information about the content of the transferred data as well as the usage of the data by Twitter. GPSies maintains certain websites that can be accessed outside of https://www.gpsies.com, such as https://blog.gpsies.com (the “Other Sites”). The Other Sites maintain the look and feel of the Services, but are hosted by outside service providers with their own terms and privacy policies. If you interact with the Other Sites, your information may be stored, processed, or shared outside of the Services. If you interact with the Other Sites, you acknowledge that you may be subject to the terms and conditions and policies applicable to such Other Site. Please be aware that any personal information you submit to the Other Sites may be read, collected, or used by other users of these forums indefinitely, and could be used to send you unsolicited messages. GPSies is not responsible for the personal information you choose to submit via the Other Sites.

Sending user data to Net Check GmbH (only affects GPSies App for Android)

If the user agrees to the app sending user data to Net Check GmbH, a restriction of the functionality of the app is excluded. The transmitted data is expressly technical data, which is transmitted anonymously and in encrypted form:

  • Item data
  • Program version and ID
  • Device type and version
  • Mobile network data: Access technology (GSM, UMTS, LTE etc.), CellId, LAC, MNC, MCC), available level values
  • Device status: battery status, connection status, phone status (ringing, active phone call, waiting)
  • WLAN: connection status, operator, theoretical speed, ID
  • Usage data: Data consumption per app in total and in the mobile network

The data provided is used exclusively for technical or statistical purposes. A comparison with other data stocks or an anonymous passing on to third parties, also in excerpts, does not take place.

GPSies reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Please review it occasionally. If GPSies makes changes to this Privacy Policy, the updated Privacy Policy will be posted on the Services in a timely manner and, if we make material changes, we will provide a prominent notice.
